Shannon Tweed and Gene Simmons are Married

After 28 years together, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed finally tied the knot yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Among the nearly 400 guests were Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and the members of KISS ... including Paul Stanley, who was in the wedding party.

We're told Tweed was wearing $2.5 million of diamonds for the first dance ... and that does NOT include engagement ring. Michael Raven handmade the jewelry -- which included 13 pieces for the bride and bridal party, consisting of earrings necklaces and a $420,000 bracelet.

The couple's two kids -- Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19 -- were also there, with Sophie serving as maid of honor.

Born in Canada, Shannon Tweed rose to stardom as Miss November, 1981, for Playboy magazine. In 1982, she began her movie career and also appeared in the TV series "Falcon Crest" (1981). She became Playmate of the Year in 1982. She was briefly involved with Playboy magazine founder Hugh M. Hefner but has carried on a long-term relationship with KISS member Gene Simmons since 1983. She has become somewhat of a "B" movie "queen," appearing in numerous low-budget "erotic thrillers" and adventure films. She and Simmons have two children, a son named Nicolas born in 1989 and a daughter Sophie born in 1992.
